Athletic Director - Mark Lieberman
At The Heritage School, our focus is on educating the whole individual by abiding by our mission: mind, body, spirit and camaradarie. In keeping with this philosophy, we strive for students to learn fair play, balance, life lessons, and character. Student athletes grow and mature as individuals, while being responsible to the team. They develop self-esteem, strong relationship skills, and a healthy lifestyle, while learning to manage their emotions effectively. Practice and competition provide the opportunity for growth in all areas of life.
The Heritage School is a non-sectarian independent school that participates in Region 1 AAA athletics in the Georgia Independent School Association. The Heritage Athletics Experience is an exemplary athletics program dependent on high quality coaches. Coaches are expected to know the players as individuals both on and off the field and to support and care for them as unique young people. From the Senior Leadership Seminar to student athlete service projects, our sports programs strive to build the leader in each athlete.
We offer high-caliber educational opportunities at practices and sporting events to compliment what is offered in the academic classroom. We pride ourselves on having scholar athletes and we are honored by our graduates’ records of achievement after high school.
What we expect from our athletes, parents, and student fans is leadership and the willingness to take responsibility for their own actions. The Heritage School Athletic Program stresses excellence, sportsmanship and a high code of moral conduct. Athletes often receive additional public scrutiny for their behavior, so they must always strive to be their best, including being humble winners and graceful losers. Athletic success is most often measured by wins and losses; however, at The Heritage School, we believe that the valuable life lessons learned as well as the evident growth and development of our student athletes are the true measures of success.
