The Hawks rolled to a 71-45 win while paced by Lance Terry early and 6-foot-8 center EB Dowuona in the second quarter. Dowuona had six of his 13 points in the second, including a pair of dunks, as Heritage (6-2, 2-0) grabbed a commanding 32-19 edge heading into the break. Terry added a pair of three pointers in the second en route to 17 points before point guard Kasen Jennings helped put the game away with three field goals in the third. Notre Dame (3-3, 1-1) jumped out to an 8-0 lead that included a pair of three-pointers before Heritage found its rhythm on both ends of the floor. The Lady Hawks outscored the Lady Wolves 11-3 to eventually tie the game on senior Carissa Vazquez’s three-pointer at the close of the first quarter. Heritage’s defense then kicked into gear, limiting Notre Dame to a pair of field goals while taking a lead for good on a basket by Kendall Stephens. The Lady Hawks outscored their opponents 20-8 in the second to take a 12-point advantage into halftime with five players scoring points. Vazquez finished with a team-high 16 points on five three-pointers.
